Pianos Plus Website Before & After Case Study
Professional web design and SEO is too important to leave to a friend of a friend to hack out.
Many companies (even large ones) make the mistake of trying to get their website built as cheaply as they can find. They knew they wanted something online, so they either asked their admin to learn how to build one or had a friend of a friend do it on the side. Most companies got what they paid for. This might have been okay five years ago (At least I got something online), but this won't cut it today at all. The stakes are too high and ignoring this fact is just counter productive for any company.
Piano Plus realized this and contacted KO Websites for a proposal. They had an older website that was started by an ex-employee that was never really completed. It had no SEO coding or editing, very little content, and was stale in style. They did have, however, a pretty good idea of what they wanted in a new website and who their market was and how their site should function.
We took their wish list and went through it line-by-line, validating their needs compared to the requested functions. In 2002 Bob Turney, owner of Turnkey Institute, had a successful vocational school in the San Francisco Bay Area. Bob wanted to open another school in Los Angeles California but needed a strategy to ensure a constant stream of new students before taking on the risk. He had a website but it wasn't performing. No leads and very little traffic were showing up.
The solution: hire KO Websites to analyze his current online asset and develop an action plan to improve his website that could bring in more leads. KO studied Bob's business to understand his business needs better and what the industry was about. Together, KO and Bob analyzed the online competition to see what they were doing right and wrong. Bob gathered information and content he wanted on his new website, and KO presented a proposal and project price.
Bob thought the price was a little high but decided that if KO delivered what they promised, the new website might just boost enrollment enough to justify the new school.
Within three months, the new website had easily paid for it self by bringing in new enrollees from around the country. Soon the Los Angeles campus was opened.
That plan worked so well Bob opened a third campus for military veterans, and a new school in Dubai! The key to all the online success? Search Engine Optimization (SEO)! Building a good website was only half the battle. Getting people to it was the other half.
